Pacific Whale Foundation’s mission is to protect our oceans through science and advocacy. We accomplish this through our ongoing marine research, education and conservation programs. Through our ocean eco-adventure cruises, we have educated nearly 3.5 million people about the marine environment, while raising needed funds to support vital whale and dolphin research studies, educational programs for children and adults, as well as important conservation programs, including our fight to stop commercial whaling.
Responsible wildlife watching: During all PWF cruises as well as research, education, and conservation programs, we practice responsible wildlife watching around all marine life and abide by federal, state, and county guidelines, rules, regulations or laws at all times.
Energy efficiency: we purchase energy efficient appliances and light bulbs.
Recycling: we have established recycling bins in our offices and on board all PWF vessels. We are also a community battery recycling center.
Waste disposal: all PWF vessels utilize onshore pump-out facilities to dispose of waste and do not dump any waste into the ocean.
Buy recycled and biodegradable: All cutlery and food service items are from plant-based sources and are biodegradable.
Reef safe sunscreen: PWF vessels provide complimentary reef safe sunscreen during all snorkel trips.
